David Burn
Professor David Burn took up the position of Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Newcastle University, UK in 2017. David is also Professor of Movement Disorders Neurology and Honorary Consultant Neurologist for Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. His research has focused on dementia associated with Parkinson’s.
Since designation by NIHR and NHS England in March 2020, David has been Director of Newcastle Health Innovation Partners, the Academic Health Science Centre for the Northeast of England and North Cumbria. David is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and Emeritus NIHR Senior Investigator. He chaired the NIHR Translational Research Collaboration for Dementia 2017-2023. David was Chair of the Northern Health Science Alliance Board 2018-2024 and was President of the Association of British Neurologists 2019 - 2021. He is President-elect of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.
